FDC Brands recognizes the need to be a positive corporate citizen, and is involved in a number of charitable and community-minded activities in British Columbia and Alberta. As the company grows, so too will its commitment to the communities in which it maintains businesses.

Our employees are encouraged to “give back” through our annual fundraising campaigns for the United Way of the Lower Mainland in BC, and the United Way of Fort McMurray in Alberta. We have had some of the most successful workplace campaigns in the history of these two organizations, donating thousands of dollars and many hours of volunteer time. We are proud of our 100 percent participation record in these campaigns, and thank all of our employees for taking part - we were one of only three first-time workplace campaigns to achieve full participation in 2004.

FDC Brands is the proud recipient of the 2005 First-Time Employee Campaign Award.  This award is presented by the United Way in recognition of the organization that ran the most exceptional first-time United Way campaign and went the “extra mile” to help support the cause.  FDC Brands, along with 3 other finalists was chosen from 54 employee campaigns that were initiated in 2004.

Many of our staff have also given their time to agencies supported by the United Way, and last year FDC Brands raised $30,000 for the United Way of the Lower Mainland, the second largest new campaign for the UWLM.

Our CEO, Yuri Fulmer, sets an example by giving his time to the UWLM, first as a Loaned Representative; for four months he lent his skills to the United Way, and this year he is a member of its Campaign Cabinet. He is one of the youngest members of the Cabinet in the history of the organization.

FDC Brands is also involved with the Surrey Food Bank, and Yuri serves as its president. We sponsor an annual fundraiser, Breakfast with the Bank, to raise money to support the vital service the Surrey Food Bank provides to its clients. This event raises thousands of dollars, and, thanks in part to our sponsorship, none of the money raised is used to pay for the costs of the event. Every dime donated goes directly to feed members of our community.

We continue to work with organizations in the fields of health, nutrition and education, seeking opportunities to feed the minds and souls of our employees, clients and customers.
